Everyone (especially me) loves a great swimming pool. Previously, I was thought any pool with a comfortable lounge chair and a volleyball net was top notch, and maybe if I really wanted to go crazy an infinity edge or beach view, but that was before seeing the pools in this post.
The features of the pools in this post take the swimming pool to a whole new level, and make the average pool look like a mud puddle in comparison. I’m sure you are curious what features could make an infinity pool look average, so peruse below and let me know which one is your favorite!

The Best Pools in Santorini
Resort Hotel, Santorini, Greece
The best pools in Santorini always seem to come with an expensive price tag…at all the fancy resort hotels. But they are incredible!
The contrast of the beautiful dark blue ocean water and white buildings on the Santorini coast make it one of the most striking on earth. When you add in a relaxing pool continuing the coast’s theme, the result isn’t even fair for other pools to try and compete with.

Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Have you ever wanted to go through a shark tank without getting your leg bit off? That is entirely possible at the Golden Nugget pool in downtown Las Vegas, which features a water-slide straight through a live shark tank.
Also worth noting is that the Golden Nugget is an amazing hotel that is surprisingly affordable. I previously booked my family there (offseason) for $25 a night. The waterslide also makes this pool one of the best pools in Las Vegas for families.

The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Not only is The Cosmopolitan one of the hottest new properties on the Las Vegas strip, but their pool is easily one of the best pools in vegas, offering incredible views of the strip, as well as a movie theater experience.
I’ve been lucky enough to watch a few “dive in” movies there, and the best part was that when I went, admission was free!
Blue Lagoon – GrindavÃk, Iceland
Blue Lagoon – GrindavÃk, Iceland– This geothermal spa is one of Iceland’s most famous tourist spots. Even though Iceland can be extremely cold, this pool is heated by water bubbling up from the center of the earth into the middle of a cooled lava field. The experience is like no other, and in person the water really does have the chalky blue color.
Read about my visit to Blue Lagoon here.
Laucala Island Resort – Fiji
Laucala Island Resort, Fiji – If I am able to relax in Fiji at a resort like the Luacala, I am not going to be in the pool for a workout, but one of the fabulous pools at the Luacala features a built in glass lap pool sitting above and within the main pool. This pool emphasizes form and function.
Ubud Hotel – Hanging Gardens Pool – Bali, Indonesia
As if the island of Bali wasn’t relaxing enough, how about a dip in the Hanging Gardens Pool at the Ubud Hotel with views of the lush rain-forest?
Bondi Icebergs Club, Bondi Beach (near Sydney), Australia
Bondi Icebergs Club, Bondi Beach (near Sydney), Australia. This Australian icon is located on the beach just outside of Sydney. This swimming pool is designed to have the ocean waves crash directly in to it.
Pamukkale Thermal Pools – Pamukkale, Turkey
Pamukkale literally means cotton castle in Turkish, so you can see why these natural cliffs got their name, even though they are actually made out of travertine. The hot springs are filled with warm water due to the underground volcanic activity. It is easy to see why this was declared a World Heritage Site.
Vanafi – Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa, Malay, Philippines
EverBank Field in Jacksonville, FL USA
Some people say that American football is painful to watch because it has too many breaks in the action.
Would you be more willing to watch if you could do it while lounging in a pool? This is exactly what the stadium for the Jacksonville Jaguars offers.
If you think this stadium is cool you should check out the soccer stadium in Rio! It is insane!
Sri Panwa Phuket, Vichit, Thailand

The Oberoi Udaivilas pool, Udaipur, India

The Standard Spa is one of the best pools in South Florida. The panoramic views of Miami are incredible.
Intercontinental – Hong Kong
Yes, there are two different pools shown in the Intercontinental’s pictures, but they are each at the same resort. Both pools offer views of the amazing Hong Kong skyline, but the second is only available in the Presidential suite.
The Cambrian – Adelboden, Switzerland
The Cambrian – Adelboden, Switzerland – This heated pool offers perfect views of the Swiss Alps. Staring at the mountains is already peaceful enough, but add in the lounging and massaging of the pool at the Cambrian, and the experience is one that cannot be beat.
Esperanza Pool in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
The Esperanza is everything you hope and expect a 5-star resort to be. The infinity pool offers exquisite views, and the experience is amplified by the rocky cliffs and beach creating waves that constantly crash on the shore. It is the perfect location for an afternoon nap (which I enjoyed while there).

The Red Pool at The Library – Koh Samui, Thailand
Once you realize that this pool is not actually filled with blood, and that the effect is created by intricate tiling instead of dye, the pool takes on a truly unique sense of beauty.
